Employee killed when crushed under falling loader bucket

On July 17, 1997, Employee #1, who was also the president of the company, was repairing the hydraulic ram on a Bobcat front end loader. The bucket on the loader was raised to approximately 7 ft and supported with wood to prevent inadvertent lowering. A short time later the bucket was lowered to approximately 4 ft. This time, however, no wooden braces were used. Employee #1 was under the bucket when it unexpectedly came down; he was crushed and killed.
