Employee killed when overloaded ceiling falls

At approximately 8:39 a.m. on August 1, 1994, Employee #1 was operating a bag and sealer machine. A false ceiling that was overloaded with fertilizer fines and granulars pulled loose and then swept down, striking Employee #1. He was knocked to the floor and covered with fertilizer. Employee #1 was killed. Employee #2, who was semi-protected by a bagger, sustained only bruises to his hip. He was treated at the hospital and released.
