Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 14338289
Event: 07/17/1995
ELECTRIC SHOCK - DIRECT CONTACT WITH ENERGIZED CONDUCTOR

An apprentice electrician was assigned the task of installing a fluorescent lighting fixture in a suspended ceiling grid. He was to install the fixture but not the wiring. An energized flexible conduit (presumably the supply for the fixture) was located above the work location. The loose ends of the conductors in the conduit were covered with wire nuts. During the installation of the fixture, the apprentice contacted the energized conductors and was electrocuted.
