ELECTRIC SHOCK - DIRECT CONTACT WITH OVERHEAD LINE

A POWER LINE CREW WAS WORKING ON A 120-VOLT OVERHEAD POWER LINE. IT HAD JUST RAINED, AND THE WORKING CONDITIONS WERE WET OR DAMP. WHEN THE JOB WAS ALMOST COMPLETE, ONE OF THE POWER LINE WORKERS WENT UP IN AN AERIAL LIFT TO SECURE A STREET LIGHT. THE POWER LINE WORKER, WHO WAS NOT USING ELECTRICAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT, WAS ELECTROCUTED WHEN HE CONTACTED THE 120-VOLT LINE.
