Employee struck by decaying tree matter

On May 10, 1990, Employee #1, a timber faller, was struck in the head and neck from behind by a section of decaying tree matter that measured 6 ft long by 5 in. in diameter. The resulting non-displaced cervical and thoracic fractures required a two-day hospitalization and an approximately two-week time loss from work.
