Employee killed when struck by forklift assembly unit

Employee #1 was working at a facility that manufactured powered industrial trucks used to raise personnel on riding platforms. He had been employed there for several weeks as an assembler, and was working overtime following the end of his scheduled 2:30-10:30 p.m. shift. A coworker engaged in a task unrelated to that of Employee #1, was using a production fork truck to raise an assembly unit of a truck being manufactured. The unit tipped backward and the mast of the truck being assembled struck Employee #1, killing him.
