Investigation Summary
At 7:03 a.m. on September 23, 2011, an employee arrived at work and was walking down the stairs of the office environment when the employee suffered a medical event and fell down the stairs. A coworker arrived at 7:14 AM and found the employee at the bottom of the stairs. The employee's feet were up on the stairs and some personal items the employee was likely carrying were also on the stairs. The stairway that led from the main floor to the basement was carpeted, had a normal angle of rise, had normal riser height/tread depth and had a handrail. The coroner determined the cause of death to be natural.
