Employee killed when crushed by manlift

Employee #1 was riding a manlift down from the third to the first floor of a parking garage. A coworker began to wonder what was taking him so long and opened the manlift door on the first floor. Employee #1 was in the manlift pit up to his waist, with a step crushing his chest. The manlift had to be disassembled to remove him. Employee #1 was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
