Employee dies in fall from tree after cutting own rope

At approximately 11:00 a.m. on June 1, 1990, Employee #1 was trimming a tree near pole #107-L. He apparently cut his climbing rope with his pruner. When he released his safety lanyard and placed his weight on the climbing rope to relocate himself on the tree, the rope broke. The employee fell approximately 30 feet to the ground, sustaining fatal internal and external injuries.
