ELECTRIC SHOCK - DIRECT CONTACT WITH ENERGIZED PARTS

An employee was repairing a starter coil. After using an A.W. Sperry SP-5A tester and finding no current, the employee decided to tighten the bottom lead on a transformer in the control box. He removed the top conductor on the transformer to gain access to the lower conductor and then reached into the box. As he was reaching inside the box, he contacted an energized part and was electrocuted. (The electric shock he received also knocked him backwards.)
