Employee burned when showered by molten copper slag

Employee #1 was standing approximately 30 feet away, watching molten copper slag being transferred from one pot into another. The slag in the receiving pot erupted violently, spewing molten slag into the air and onto Employee #1. He suffered second- and third-degree burns over 80 percent of his body.
