Employee's fingers amputated by saw

Employee #1 was cutting a 1-in. strip of waferboard. The waferboard started to lift up and come back to the operator's position. When Employee #1 attempted to push the wood back down on the table, four fingers on his left hand were amputated by the blade, which was above the material being cut. A guard and push sticks were available, but they were not being used.
