Employee injured when struck by falling piece of steel

Employee #1 was painting epoxy on a form approximately 20 to 30 ft below a demolition site located on the surface of a bridge. When a crane picked up one of the steel beams to be removed from the surface, an approximately 12 in. by 12 in. by 1/2 in. piece of loose steel fell and struck Employee #1 on the back of the head. He was wearing a hard hat.
