ELECTRIC SHOCK - DIRECT CONTACT WITH OVERHEAD LINE

AN APPRENTICE POWER LINE WORKER WAS ASSISTING IN THE TRANSFER OF A STREET LIGHT AND ITS PHOTOCELL FROM AN OLD POLE TO A NEW ONE. THE APPRENTICE APPARENTLY HAD ONE HAND ON THE BOTTOM 120-VOLT SECONDARY CONDUCTOR WHILE HIS OTHER HAND WAS ON THE NEUTRAL CONDUCTOR. HE WAS ELECTROCUTED. (HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD 45 MINUTES AFTER THE ACCIDENT.)
