Employee killed when crushed between two piece of equipment

Employee #1 and workers employed by another employer stepped up onto the low end of a belt conveyor, which was supported in the middle in a seesaw configuration. The low end was pinned to a 2,500 lb counterweight. Employee #1 and the workers were trying to take the weight off a stuck drift pin. When the pin released, the conveyor seesawed. Two workers jumped off but Employee #1 became caught between the conveyor and a screening machine to which it had been attached. His chest was crushed and he was killed.
