Investigation Summary

At approximately 2:55 p.m. on December 11, 1990, Employee #1 was helping a coworker remove outside wood face boards from walls underneath the balcony of apartment #2995. The material was being removed because the wall studs and header were being replaced due to deterioration. Employee #1 was standing under the balcony talking to the coworker, who was not standing under the balcony. The balcony suddenly collapsed onto Employee #1, crushing him to death.
