ELECTRIC SHOCK - DIRECT CONTACT WITH OVERHEAD LINE

A POWER LINE WORKER WAS IN AN AERIAL LIFT, WORKING ON A 7200-VOLT OVERHEAD POWER LINE. THE EMPLOYEE REMOVED THE PLASTIC GUARD EQUIPMENT FROM THE LINE AND WAS INSTALLING AN ANCHOR BRACKET TO THE POLE. HIS FACE CONTACTED THE POWER LINE, AND HE RECEIVED A SEVERE ELECTRIC SHOCK AND BURNS. HE LATER DIED OF HIS INJURIES.
