Employee drowns in dam waters

Between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. on November 2, 1992, Employee #1, a dam tender, took his son's 4-wheel ATV and drove across a dam, through a spill gate area, and down a makeshift ramp leading to the apron adjacent to the dam intake. When he attempted to go up the dam ramp to the driveway, the ATV slipped down and fell from the ramp. Employee #1 and the ATV fell in the water. Employee #1 was found floating. He suffered hypothermia and drowned.
