EMPLOYEE KILLED WHEN KNOCKED FROM SCAFFOLD BY FALLING WALL

TWO EMPLOYEES WERE REPAIRING AN EXTERIOR SOLDIER'S COURSE, WORKING FROM A TWO POINT SUSPENTION SCAFFOLD, WHEN A 28 FOOT LONG SECTION OF THE PARAPET WALL BROKE LOOSE AND FELL ONTO THEM. THE SCAFFOLD WAS UNABLE TO WITHSTAND THE LOAD AND FELL TO THE GROUND. EMPLOYEE #1 HAD HIS LIFELINE ATTACHED TO THE SCAFFOLD SYSTEM AND FELL 40 FEET TO THE GROUND, ALONG WITH THE SCAFFOLD. HE WAS KILLED. THE OTHER EMPLOYEE WAS INJURED.
