EMPLOYEES #1 AND #2 WERE LAYING PIPE IN A 6 TO 7 FOOT LONG TRENCH WITH NO SHORING SYSTEM OR OTHER PROTECTION FROM MOVING DIRT. THE SOIL BANK SIDE COLLAPSED, COVERING BOTH MEN. THE BANK WAS 5 FEET HIGH WITHOUT PROTECTION AND SITTING ON PREVIOUSLY DISTURBED SOIL. ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES COULD SEE A HOLE AND TALKED TO THE RESCUERS.
