3 CONSTRUCTION WORKERS KILLED WHEN NYLON ROPE BROKE

AT APPROXIMATELY 9 AM ON JANUARY 31, 1988, EMPLOYEES #1,#2, & #3 WERE BEING PULLED TO THE TOP OF A TOWER BY A NYLON ROPE (1/2 INCH) HOOKED AT THE BOTTOM TO A TRUCK, LOOPED THROUGH THE TOWER FRAME AT THE TOP AND ATTACHED TO THE THREE EMPLOYEES BY THEIR SAFETY BELTS AND LANYARDS. AS THE THREE EMPLOYEES WERE BEING HAULED UP THE OUTSIDE OF THE TOWER FRAME THE ROPE BROKE, CAUSING THE EMPLOYEES TO FALL ABOUT 1400 FEET TO THEIR DEATHS.
