ELECTRIC SHOCK - DIRECT CONTACT WITH EXPOSED LIVE PARTS

A SENIOR METER INSTALLER WAS INSTALLING A METER FOR AN ENERGIZED 480-VOLT SYSTEM. CONTRARY TO THE WARNINGS OF HIS FELLOW EMPLOYEES, HE DID NOT WEAR ANY PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (SUCH AS A HARD HAT AND RUBBER INSULATING GLOVES). THE METER INSTALLER CONTACTED EXPOSED LIVE PARTS AND WAS ELECTROCUTED.
