Western North Carolina Workers' Center Hendersonville NC $79,972 Pilot
The grantee will provide 4-hour training to workers in the poultry industry. Target audience includes limited English proficiency, non-literate and low literacy workers, and other hard-to-reach workers.  Training topics will include OSHA rights, personal protective equipment, ergonomics, and body mapping. Plan to use existing training materials to include train-the-trainer workbook, worker workbook, and fact sheets. Training will be offered in Spanish and Hmong.

The grantee will provide 4-hour worker training and 4-day train-the-trainer training to workers in the home healthcare industry.  Target audience includes limited English proficiency, low literacy, and vulnerable workers.  Training topics will include bloodborne pathogens, safe patient handling, hazard communication, and workplace violence.  Plan to develop new training materials.  Training will be offered in English and Spanish.
AgriSafe Network Spencer IA $165,000 Developmental
The grantee will provide 4-hour in-person and 1-hour live-streaming training to workers in the agriculture industry.  Target audience includes young workers and employers of young workers.  Training topics will include the hearing loss, personal proactive equipment, grain safety, manure pit safety, and agriculture standards. Plan to use developed training materials; including eHealth tools.
Association of Farmworkers Opportunity Program Washington DC $164,639 Developmental
The grantee will provide 0.5-hour agricultural safety training and 15-hour train-the-trainer training to peer trainers in the agricultural industry.  Target audience includes low-literacy and non-English speaking seasonal and migrant farmworkers and their employers.  Training topics will include the heat stress, pesticide safety, and tractor safety. Plan to use existing training materials on heat stress and pesticide safety, and develop new materials for tractor safety.  Training will be offered in Spanish.

The grantee will provide 2-hour chemical hazards training to workers in the nail salon industry. Target audience includes small businesses and vulnerable workers.  Training topics will include chemical hazards in nail salons. Plan to use existing training materials. Training will be offered in Vietnamese.

The grantee will provide 30-hour safety and health committee training, 32-hour train-the-trainer training, and 2- to 6-hour worker training to small employers and their workers. Target audience includes high-risk worker and workers with limited English proficiency.  Training topics will include the electrical hazards, ergonomics, confined space, powered-industrial trucks, and fall hazards.  Plan to modify current materials and develop new materials in Spanish. Training will be offered in English and Spanish.

The grantee will provide 1-hour hazard identification and 4-hour train-the-trainer training to nail salon, home health care, community health, carwash, and other general industry workers. Target audience includes hard-to-reach, low literacy, and limited-English proficiency workers.  Training topics will include the hazard communication, general hazards, amputations, and ergonomics. Plan to enhance existing training materials. Training will be offered in Spanish.   
Migrant Clinicians Network, Inc. Austin TX $165,000 Developmental
The grantee will provide 1- to 8-hour training to workers in agriculture, janitorial, and nail salon. Target audience includes limited English proficiency, non-literate, and low literate workers.  Training topics will include the heat stress, chemical safety, work-related asthma, and hazard communication. Plan to adapt and use existing training materials for in-person and webinar training. Training will be offered in Spanish and Vietnamese.

Target audience includes small businesses, non-English speaking, limited-English proficiency and other vulnerable worker.  Training topics will include the train-the-trainer, lock-out/tag-out, fire prevention, job safety analysis, fall prevention and confined space. Plan to develop fall protection materials, use existing training materials and facilitator guides. Training will be offered in English.

The grantee will provide 2-hour health and safety topic, 6-hour leadership and 8-hour train-the-trainer training to warehouse, food manufacturing, cemetery, bus transportation, and workers supporting the technology industry. Target audience includes non-literate and low literacy, temporary, and other vulnerable workers.  Training topics will include the ergonomics, slip and trip, electrical, chemical exposure, and heat/cold, and workers' rights. Plan to adapt existing training materials. Training will be offered in Spanish.

The grantee will provide 2-hour, 4-hour, and 5-hour peer-led health and safety training and a 20-hour train-the-trainer training to the restaurant, cleaning, and food processing industries. Target audience includes small businesses, non-English speaking, limited English proficient, non-literate and low literacy, young, and other vulnerable workers.  Training topics will include the OSHA rights and responsibilities, chemical hazards, hazard communication, hazard mapping, ergonomics, and slip, trips, and falls. Plan to use existing and develop new training materials. Training will be offered in Spanish.

The grantee will provide 1- to 2-hour safety awareness training to dairy and farm workers. Target audience includes non- and low-literacy, temporary, and other hard-to-reach workers in high-hazard industries and industries with high fatality rates.  Training topics will include health and work stress, ergonomics, dairy farm and orchard safety, and hazard communication.  Plan to use existing training materials and develop new materials where needed. Training will be offered in English, Spanish, and Haitian-Creole.
Workers Defense Project Austin TX $160,000 Developmental
The grantee will provide 1.5 and 4-hour construction hazard training to workers in the construction industry. Target audience includes limited non-English, low-literacy, hard-to-reach workers and small businesses.  Training topics will include the excavations, cranes, confined space, struck-by, caught-between, and hazard recognition, avoidance, and prevention.   Plan to develop lesson plans, trainee manuals, and train-the-trainer guide. Training will be offered in English and Spanish.

The grantee will present a 1-hour hazard identification and control workshop, a 1-hour workers' rights workshop, 3-hour occupational safety and health training, 10-hour construction trades training, and a 36-hour train-the-trainer class to hospitality and healthcare workers in Maryland and Northern Virginia. Training topics will include ergonomics, bloodborne pathogens, material safety data sheets, construction Focus Four hazards, workers' rights under OSHA, restaurant safety, and asbestos. Training will be provided in English and Spanish.

The grantee will conduct 2.5-hour safety and health training for migrant farmworkers and other low-wage workers in New Jersey. Target audience includes limited English proficiency, low-literacy, and other hard-to-reach workers. Training topics will include worker rights, whistleblower protection, heat exposure, hazard communication, and chemical and physical dangers in the workplace. Plan to develop (currently developing) a heat stress train-the-trainer module. Training will be provided in English and Spanish.
Construction Advancement Foundation of Northwest Indiana, Inc Portage IN $135,915 Developmental Follow-on
The grantee will offer 2-day train-the-trainer training and  7.5-hour training to safety representatives in the chemical, refinery, and construction industries in Indiana. Target audience includes construction workers and employers.  Plan to update existing training modules and a train-the-trainer component. Starting in quarter 1 the training topics will include process safety management, administration of safety programs, risk assessment and accident investigation, fall protection, electrical, arc flash and tag-out, confined space and hot work permits, health hazards and industrial hygiene, excavation safety and train-the-trainer content.  Training will be provided in English.
District 1199C Training and Upgrading Fund Philadelphia PA $126,000 Developmental Follow-on
The grantee will present 1- to 3-hour safety and health training to workers employed in healthcare industries in Pennsylvania. Training audience includes low-literacy, and hard-to-reach workers. Training topics include fire safety, OSHA rights, workplace violence, job hazard analysis, infection control, hazard communication and ergonomics. New topics include Ebola infection control and safety for home health care aides and behavioral health workers. Training materials include PowerPoint presentations and factsheets geared to educationally disadvantaged workers. Training will be provided in English. 
Education & Training Institute Inc New Brunswick NJ $148,480 Developmental Follow-on
The grantee will present 45-minute tailgate training, 4-hour classroom training, and 30-hour train-the-trainer class on residential construction hazards to workers in small and new businesses, hard-to-reach, and non-literate workers in New Jersey. Training topics will include basic OSHA rights, hazard mapping, chemical hazards, managing mold, PPE/respirator protection, ladder safety, scaffold safety, fall protection, electric safety, hand and power tools, concrete and masonry safety, and excavations.   Training materials will include a workbook, fact sheets, and flyers. Training will be provided in English and Spanish.
Farmworker Association of Florida, Inc Apopka FL $110,623 Developmental Follow-on
The grantee will present 2-hour awareness and 22-hour train-the-trainer classes on the Yes! We Can! agricultural safety and health program to Latino farmworkers in Florida. Target audience includes limited English proficiency, low-literacy, and hard-to-reach workers. Culturally- and linguistically-appropriate training materials will be updated/revised for this audience. Topics include heat stress, field sanitation, pesticide exposure, chemical hazards and other workplace hazards and workers' rights. Training will be provided in English and Spanish.
Farmworker Justice Fund, Inc Washington DC $148,500 Developmental Follow-on
The grantee will provide a 15-hour train-the-trainer class and 30-minute farmworker safety awareness training to migrant and seasonal farmworkers in California. Training topics will include pesticide safety, heat illness, field sanitation, and workers' rights. Plan to revise existing training materials which include a presentation flipbook, information cards, and brochures. A text message application will be developed (improved) to deliver information to workers following training. Training will be available in English and Spanish.

The grantee will offer 7.5-hour train-the-trainer classes for worker leaders, who will then provide 1.5-hour awareness training to workers in general, construction, cleaning services, poultry/meat packing, restaurants, landscaping, home care, farm, warehouse and car wash industries. Target audience includes limited English proficiency, low-literacy, minority, and other hard-to-reach workers. Training will include workers' rights, hazard identification and control, risk communication, ergonomics accidents and injuries. Training will be available in English and Spanish.

The grantee will deliver 4-hour training on safe patient handling to healthcare professionals, nursing students and healthcare employers in Florida. Classroom training sessions will be designed (revised) that utilize mechanical lifts and slings, brochures, and other materials that provide a subject matter overview. Training topics will also include workers' rights under OSHA and OSHA whistleblower protection. Program materials will be made available, as needed, in Spanish. Training will be provided in English and Spanish.
MinKwon Center for Community Action, Inc Flushing NY $90,000 Developmental Follow-on
The grantee will offer 2-hour culturally-appropriate training on nail salon safety and health, construction jobsite safety, and restaurant and retail workplace safety to workers in those industries. Target audience includes non-English speaking/limited English proficiency as  well as recent and prospective restaurant employees and employers. Training topics will include hazardous substances, Focus Four hazards, employers and workers’ rights and responsibilities,  whistleblower protection and ergonomics. Training will be provided in English, Korean, Nepali, and Spanish.
National Council for Occupational Safety and Health Longmeadow MA $585,000 Developmental Follow-on
The grantee will provide 4-hour train-the-trainer and 2-hour worker training to workers in the construction, agriculture, oil and gas, and general industries. Training audience includes small businesses, new businesses and high hazard industries, limited English proficiency, young, temporary, low-literacy, and hard-to-reach workers. Plan to (use) revise/update existing training materials. Training will be offered in English and Spanish (Brazilian Portuguese). Training for vulnerable workers who speak other languages (e.g., Vietnamese, Somali, Bosnian) will be conducted through interpreters.
National Day Laborer Organizing Network Los Angeles CA $148,500 Developmental Follow-on
The grantee will deliver 2-day train-the-trainer training and 3-hour awareness training to hard-to-reach and limited English proficiency migrant day laborers. Training topics will include the use of power tools, hazards in construction industry, use of pesticides, musculoskeletal disorders, workers' rights, and formation of health and safety committees. Existing training materials will be revised and new materials will be developed as needed.  Training will be provided in English and Spanish.
New Jersey State AFL-CIO Community Services Agency Trenton NJ $147,723 Developmental Follow-on
The grantee will offer a 3-day train-the-trainer training and 1- to 4-hour injury and illness prevention program awareness training to food manufacturing and supermarket workers. Target audience includes small businesses, limited English proficiency, young workers and workers in high-hazard industries. Training materials designed by the New Jersey State AFL-CIO will be translated into Spanish as necessary. Training materials include PowerPoint presentations, student materials, and instructor guides. Training will be provided in English and Spanish.

The grantee will conduct 4-hour awareness and 7-hour operations training on agricultural safety and rescue operations for emergency responders (firefighters) and agricultural workers in Oklahoma. Training audience includes small and new businesses, limited English proficiency, low-literacy, young, temporary, and other hard-to-reach workers.  Training topics include agricultural safety and rescue with an emphasis on grain handling operations. Training will be provided in English and Spanish.
University of California Los Angeles, Regents Los Angeles CA $148,487 Developmental Follow-on
The grantee will offer health and safety training to workers in high-hazard settings who provide airport support operations; cargo handlers, warehouse/storage operations, mechanics, ramp operations, and other below the wing workers in the airport industry. Target audience includes low-wage, minority, Spanish speaking and/or limited English proficient workers.  Training will include such topics as machine safety, heat illness prevention, ergonomics, and chemical hazards. Training will be available in English and Spanish.
University of Illinois, Board of Trustees Champaign IL $148,500 Developmental Follow-on
The grantee will deliver 6-hour youth curriculum train-the-trainer training, 7.5-hour lifeline installation and use train-the-trainer training, and 1- to 1.5-hour awareness training to youth, and 4- to 6-hour lifeline installation training for use in small grain elevators. Training audience includes small businesses, young, low-literacy, hard-to-reach, and limited English proficiency workers. Topics to be addressed are agricultural safety, grain handling operations and grain bin entry. Training will be provided in English and Spanish.

The grantee will offer 4- and 8-hour training on multiple topics to small business workers in the residential construction, logging, oil and gas extraction, landscaping, and manufacturing industries. Topics will include hazard recognition and control measures specific to each industry, workers' rights, and how to comply with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. Training and education materials include new and existing materials. Training will be provided in English.

The grantee will offer 6-hour training to workers and employers engaged in the construction, deconstruction, and maintenance of telecommunication towers and wind turbines in Iowa, Nebraska, and North Dakota. Target audience includes small and medium businesses and limited English proficiency workers. Training topics will include accident investigation, site inspection, and hand and power tool safety, and three new topics including motorized construction equipment safety, carbon monoxide and asphyxiant gases, and emergency action assessments and planning. Training will be provided in English.

The grantee will present 30-minute to 4-hour worker training and 4-hour employer training to workers involved in chemical plants, oil refineries, sewage and water treatment operations, hospitals, and long-term care facilities. Training topics will include identifying and mapping hazards, chemical hazards, OSHA's Process Safety Management standard, heath care hazards including workplace violence and safe lifting, injury and illness prevention programs, mold hazards, workers' rights and whistleblower protection . Training will be provided in English.
