No. Any expenses incurred during travel to and from the stakeholder meetings is solely the responsibility of the attendees.
Question: The registration form mentions two levels of participation for these stakeholder events, participants and observers. What is the difference?
Answer:
Because of limited time at these stakeholder events, we are asking individuals to indicate their level of engagement. Participants have clear proposals and prepared comments relating to VPP sustainability. Observers have a clear interest in the future of VPP, and wish to learn about potential proposals. Regardless of the level of participation at stakeholder events, the Directorate of Cooperative Programs, Office of Partnerships and Recognition strongly encourages stakeholders to submit their comments suggestions and recommendations to the docket.

No. You do not have to sign up for the VPPPA Conference, nor do you have to be a member of VPPPA to attend the OSHA Stakeholder Meetings.

The stakeholder meeting in New Orleans, LA is free of charge and open to the general public. Anyone interested in improving occupational safety and health and specifically in enhancing the sustainability of the VPP can register and then attend. The meeting will be held August 28, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Great Hall B of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. You must register for the meeting before August 23.

No. The purpose for these meetings is to generate new ideas and get feedback on OSHA's ideas related to improving the sustainability of VPP, especially as it relates to OSHA's interactions with active VPP participants. These meetings are not intended to create, update, amend, change or remove any existing or proposed OSHA regulations or standards. There are other more appropriate venues for those discussions.
