Wyoming’s 3rd Annual OSHA Roadshow: Safety Training for Oil & Gas

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services brought the 3rd Annual OSHA Roadshow to Cheyenne on May 12th and 13th, 20206, providing free, practical safety training to industry professionals.

The event helped employers, supervisors, safety managers, and frontline workers understand and apply Wyoming’s new oil and gas safety rules, which had gone into effect in November 2025 and represented a major shift for workers and operators statewide.

This year, the Roadshow welcomed 59 attendees and focused on clarity and real-world application, supporting the broader mission of reducing workplace injuries and fatalities. With fatal work injuries declining nationally, Wyoming OSHA continued its commitment to further progress through education and collaboration.

The full-day workshop included featured sessions on:

  • Understanding new safety rules and field application
  • Lessons from real-world incidents and fatality trends
  • Actionable strategies for risk reduction
  • Compliance and reporting requirements
  • Environmental and seasonal hazards
  • Site preparedness and operations
  • Gas detection, confined spaces, and maintenance best practices

Christian Graham, Wyoming OSHA Program Manager, emphasized the event's practical approach—helping attendees grasp what had changed, identify risks, and manage them for safer workplaces.

The OSHA On-Site Consultation Program offers no-cost and confidential occupational safety and health services to small and medium-sized businesses in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and several U.S. territories, with priority given to high-hazard worksites. Consultants from state agencies or universities work with employers to identify workplace hazards and how to fix them, provide advice for compliance with OSHA standards, train and educate workers, and assist in establishing and improving safety and health programs.
