Double R Brand Foods, LLC. is an old-fashioned, pecan-smoked, artisan meats producer. In 2020, the company safety manager reached out to OSHCON – Occupational Safety and Health Consultation Program. Together with OSHCON, they started working towards Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) status.

The partnership with Consultation helped the company:

  • Increase internal safety inspections.
  • Build a new online platform to be utilized for tracking safety inspections.
  • Develop comprehensive corrective actions, task assignments and completion.
  • Increase review of all incident reports.
  • Create a more robust safety culture.

The company has been able to leverage the overall impact of its safety culture to achieve measurable improvements in productivity, compliance, and risk reductions.

In 2025, Double R Brands Foods, LLC. was the first PSM facility in the state of Texas to achieve SHARP.

The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) acknowledges small and medium-sized businesses that have used OSHA On-Site Consultation Program services and operate exemplary workplace safety and health programs.
