29 CFR 1926.601(b)(4)(i): No employer shall use any motor vehicle equipment having an obstructed view to the rear unless: The vehicle has a reverse signal alarm audible above the surrounding noise level or: a. At the worksite employees were exposed to construction traffic that had a back-up alarm that was not louder than the ambient noise created from the I-270 traffic. On or about July 16, 2013 an employee was fatally injured when he was backed over by a dump truck.
