29 CFR 1910.1027(l)(1)(iv): The employer did not assure that the collecting and handling of biological samples of cadmium in urine (CdU),and beta-2 microglobulin in urine (B(2)-M) taken from employees was done in a manner that assured their reliability and that analysis of biological samples of cadmium was taken from employees under this section was performed in laboratories with demonstrated proficiency for that particular analyte. (See Appendix F): (a) BAE Systems - The employer required employees exposed to cadmium to provide urine samples, and did not assure that the collecting of cadmium in urine (CdU) and beta -2 microglobulin was done in a reliable manner, as evident by the fact that samples were not obtained utilizing a consistent collection protocol, on or about April 16, 2013. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
