Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not provided employment and a place of employment that was free of recognized hazards in that employees were not trained on conveyor emergency stop devices. Ottawa, IL. jobsite - Employees were not trained on the location and purpose of emergency stop devices for conveyors. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d) Among feasible means of abatement include but are not limited to ASME B20.1-1996 5.12 (e) which states that "Personnel working on or near a conveyor shall be instructed as to the location and operation of pertinent stopping devices".
