Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling: a.On or about 2/12/04, two employees were working along Line 14 from the Lull lift's forks and mast while not adequately protected from falls. ABATEMENT NOTE: One feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to comply with the requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers document ASME/ANSI B56.6-1992, Safety Standard for Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks.
