North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to:[Reference a)Facility, Roof Top #2 - employees were allowed to use a moveable (stage) platform, resting on and suspended between two other platforms that overlapped only 5 inches on each end and was not secured to prevent movement. [Reference: 29 CFR 1910.28(a)(11)] Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to overlap the platform by a minimum of 12 inches on each end and/or secure the ends to prohibit movement.
