Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CUTS
Title 40.1-51.1(a), Code of Virginia: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from the recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: (a) Commodore Homes of Virginia Inc. failed to ensure that all employees who operated the table saws were trained in the safety and operating rules which had been established by the employer for this particular piece of equipment. On, or about, 9/16/99 an untrained worker received lacerations to four fingers, with one finger being amputated, while operating a table saw. "One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to ensure that all employees allowed to operate table saws are trained in the safety and operating rules before use.re
