Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that they were exposed to vehicular struck-by hazards. Jiffy Lube automotive service shop at 1807 N. Richmond Rd, McHenry, IL 60050, service bay lanes - on or about July 16, 2021, employees were exposed to vehicular struck-by hazards when guiding clients to drive their cars into the service bays. Employees were standing in the path of the oncoming vehicles to provide visual hand signals to clients driving over the service pit floor openings. Safe positioning of the personnel away from the collision area was not ensured and likely to result in death, permanent disability or other injuries. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
