29 CFR 1926.1207(a): The employer did not provide training to each employee whose work was regulated by this standard, at no cost to the employee, and ensure that the employee possesses the understanding, knowledge, and skills necessary for the safe performance of the duties assigned under this standard: a) On June 29, 2020, at the above address, the employer did not provide complete training for employees working in and near the elevator system's pit (a permit-required confined space) on the hazards of the permit space, the methods used to isolate/control/protect employees from these hazards, assigned duties, and the dangers of attempting unauthorized rescue, thereby exposing an employee working in the elevator's pit to struck-by hazards from overhead materials and equipment.
