Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to emergency egress hazards: a) Green Empire Farms, Inc., on or about 6/18/20: Exit doors throughout the facility were not marked with signs such as, "Exit" and "Not An Exit", to indicate their purpose. b) Green Empire Farms, Inc., on or about 6/18/20: Exit routes throughout the facility were not marked with signs to indicate the direction of travel to the nearest exit. Among other feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to install exit signs and directional exit signs in accordance with (NFPA) National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code 101-2018, Chapter 7 Means of Egress, Section 7.10 Marking of Means of Egress.
