Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a. The employer fails to ensure effective protection against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on or about March 5, 2020, at a new home construction site located at 10813 Applewood Range Way, Tampa, FL, when employees installing sheeting on a roof, without having training on fall protection, are exposed to a fall hazard of 10-feet to ground level. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that all employees are trained on the use of fall protection when an employee works 6 feet or more above lower levels. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, the employer must submit documents describing the measures it is taking to ensure compliance, including an explanation of how these steps protect its employees from falls associated with ladder misuse.
