Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employee(s) working aloft from a ladder cutting tree limb(s) was exposed to struck-by hazard from the section of tree that was getting cut down: a) During tree removal operation at the rear of residential property located at 720 Edgar Rd in Elizabeth NJ, an employee that worked from an extension ladder leaned against the tree using a chainsaw to cut limbs was exposed to struck-by hazards. A section of tree that he cut struck him as it fell. The employer did not take appropriate actions to ensure a safe removal operation. Condition(s) were noted on or about 12/05/2019.
