Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by, fall, and/or caught between hazards associated with the installation of prefabricated roof trusses that were not adequately braced. (a) On or about August 20, 2019, and at times prior thereto, employees installed prefabricated 61' long span roof trusses weighing up to 1071 lbs. per truss, and the employer did not assure that the Temporary Installation Restraint/Bracing and the Permanent Individual Truss Member Restraint and Diagonal Bracing were installed properly and exposed employees to struck by, fall, and/or caught between hazards.
