Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:

OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrical hazards while using electrical equipment: a. On or before August 8, 2019, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from electrical contact hazards by removing a damaged extension cord that was missing the ground prong and had multiple instances of damage to the outer sheathing, thereby exposing the employees to an electrical shock. b. On or before August 8, 2019, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from electrical contact hazards by removing a cord and plug connected plastic welder that was missing the ground prong and had damage to the cord which exposed the electrical conductors, thereby exposing the employees to an electrical shock.
