Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.332(b)(1): Employees were not trained in and familiar with the safety-related work practices required by 1910.331 through 1910.335 that pertained to their respective job assignments: The employer is failing to protect employees from electrical shock hazards when performing well and pump maintenance operations. This was most recently documented, on or about 6/12/2019, at the job site located at Rd N 80 (39.466304, -100.575538) Selden KS 67757. Employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards while utilizing a truck mounted Smeal Hydraulic 6T derrick. The employer did not provide adequate training to employees such as but not limited to calculating the working distance from energized overhead powerlines based upon the tools used, angles of approach, and the configuration of the jobsite when working near energized overhead power lines.
