29 CFR 1915.81(a)(5): The employer shall dispose of flammable and combustible substances, such as paint thinners, solvents, rags, scrap, and waste, or store them in covered fire-resistant containers at the end of each work shift or when the job is completed, whichever occurs first. Marine Railway 4, Boat Yard: Flammable and combustible materials such as used paint rollers, solvent soaked rags, and cardboard were disposed of into open plastic trash receptacles creating a fire hazard.
