29 CFR 1910.1026(c): Employees were exposed to an airborne concentration of chromium (VI) which exceeded 5 micrograms per cubic meter of air, calculated as an 8-hour time-weighted average: Faurecia Emissions Control System NA, LLC did not ensure that employees performing welding operations on the production line did not exceed the OSHA permissible exposure limit (PEL) for chromium (VI) in instances such as, but not limit to, the following: a) On March 12, 2019, an employee conducting welding operations on production line S550 asset 2356 was exposed to an 8-hour time-weighted average level of 35.1 micrograms per cubic meter for chromium (VI), approximately 7.03 times the permissible exposure limit of 5.0 micrograms per cubic meter. The exposure level was derived from segmented samples collected over a 413 minutes sampling period with zero exposure assumed for the unsampled period of 67 minutes. b) On March 12, 2019, an employee conducting welding operations on production line V363 hot end asset 00303 was exposed to an 8-hour time-weighted average level of 34.4 micrograms per cubic meter for chromium (VI), approximately 6.89 times the permissible exposure limit of 5.0 micrograms per cubic meter. The exposure level was derived from segmented samples collected over a 397 minutes sampling period with zero exposure assumed for the unsampled period of 83 minutes.
