29 CFR 1910.305(a)(2)(ix): All lamps for general illumination are not protected from accidental contact or breakage by a suitable fixture or lampholder with a guard. Brass shell, paper-lined sockets, or other metal-cased sockets may not be used unless the shell is grounded: a) Facility located at 360 Lambs Road, Sewell, NJ, Warehouse/Production A Bay: A metal clamp light attached to the Bridgeport Milling machine, was not provided with a guard to protect it from accidental contact or breakage, observed on or about 10/5/2018. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that the light fixture is protected from accidental contact or breakage by providing a guard or suitable fixture. EAST COAST STEEL, INC. WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD, ITS EQUIVALENT, OR ESSENTIALLY SIMILAR STANDARD 1910.305(a)(2)(ix), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 1264724 CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 19 AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON 1/9/2018, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 360 LAMBS ROAD, NEW JERSEY, 08080 NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
