29 CFR 1910.243(e)(3)(vii): Wheel drive disengaging controls, except deadman controls, did not move opposite to the direction of the vehicle motion in order to disengage the drive. Deadman controls did not automatically interrupt power to a drive when the operator's actuating force was removed, and may operate in any direction to disengage the drive. a. August Corso Sons, Inc. located in Sandusky, OH: On or about May 11, 2018, the employer did not ensure the Hustler Trimstar zero turn walk behind lawnmower #7 was equipped with functioning deadman controls that automatically interrupted power to the drive system when the operators force was removed. b.
