Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: On or about October 11, 2017 employees were exposed to chemical burn hazards where: a. In building two, Barrel 3, the emergency eyewash station adjacent to plating cells E and F (stations 27 and 28) was not functional. b. In building two, the emergency eyewash station between Barrel 3 and Rack 3 adjacent to station 14 of Barrel 3 was not functional. c. In building two, Rack 3, the emergency eyewash station adjacent to the #2 Acid rinse/station 22 was not functional. d. In building one the emergency eyewash in water treatment adjacent to Filter Press and Membrane was not functional. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.9(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
