Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): Powered industrial truck(s) found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe had not been taken out of service until restored to safe operating condition: a) Lumber/Mill Yard (Facility): On or about August 01, 2017, and at times prior thereto the employer exposed employees to crushed-by, struck-by and other hazards from Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) such as but not limited to the Taylor "Big Red" forklift which horn(s) were not operational and the vehicles have not been taken out of service for repair. b) Lumber/Mill Yard (Facility): On or about August 01, 2017, and at times prior thereto the employer exposed employees to crushed-by, struck-by and other hazards from Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) such as but not limited to the JCB Loadall "Turbo" which seatbelt(s) were not provided and the vehicles have not been taken out of service for repair.
