Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (a) Employees were not trained on hazardous chemicals in the facility and the requirements of the Hazard Communication program, to include the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. The GHS requirements include pictograms, signal words, precautionary statements and the ranking system of hazard classification. Employees use lubricating chemicals such as motor and transmission oils, and window cleaner daily during postal vehicle maintenance.
