29 CFR 1910.176(a): Where mechanical handling equipment was used, aisles were not kept clear and in good repair, without obstructions across or in aisles that could create a hazard. (a) Date of Violation: On or about 06-14-2016 and times prior thereto, located at U.S. Postal Service Merrifield Processing and Distribution Center, 8409 Lee Hwy. Merrifield, VA 22081, Condition: Powered industrial equipment was operated within clearly marked aisles containing wheeled mail carts that were placed in the aisles, exposing employees to struck by or caught between hazards. The United States Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.176(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1064528.015, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 08-24-15, with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service Grand Rapids, MI. The United States Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.176(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1105178.015, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 02-04-16, with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service Fort Wayne, IN.
