29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(i): Portable cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) were not visually inspected before use on any shift for external defects (such as loose parts, deformed and missing pins, or damage to outer jacket or insulation) and for evidence of possible internal damage (such as pinched or crushed outer jacket): a. On or about January 13, 2015, at the Building #1 - Final preparation department, a vacuum cleaner had a frayed cord, exposing an employee to an electrical hazard. b. On or about May 14, 2015, athe Building #1 - Upholstery department, a bench grinder (i.e. Clarke, Model BT 1005A) had interior current carrying conductors exposed due to lack of strain relief and the ground pin was missing from the attachment plug. Contender Boats Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(ii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 31426506, citation number 1, item number 24 and was affirmed as a final order on December 16, 2010, with respect to a workplace located at 1820 SE 38 Avenue, Homestead, FL 33035.
