29 CFR 1910.178(m)(5)(i): When a powered industrial truck is left unattended, load engaging means shall be fully lowered, controls shall be neutralized, power shall be shut off, and brakes set. Wheels shall be blocked if the truck is parked on an incline. On or about 07 November 2014 the employer did not ensure that the controls to powered industrial vehicles were neutralized, were wire rope chains were on the powered industrial vehicles securing the keys to them making them accessible to all employees. The US Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.178(m)(5)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 895755, citation number 1, item number 5 and was affirmed as a final order on May 31, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 7001 S Central Ave Los Angeles CA 90052.
